EP Kickoff And Ideas Exchange

Please join us for EP's Kickoff Event and Ideas Exchange! The event will feature a presentation by Barnet Fain, an active entrepreneur in the Providence area. Mr. Fain is the former CEO of Highland Distributors, a.k.a. Fain's Fine Carpet and Rugs, and a lifelong advocate of arts and service organizations. He has served as chairman/director of such nonprofits as the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, the Providence Art Club and Miriam Hospital, and currently heads the Board of Directors of Lifespan, Rhode Island's largest nonprofit health service provider. He is also a former Chairman of the Board of RISD.

The presentation will be followed by an Ideas Exchange reception where students can network and share entrepreneurial ideas. Everyone is welcome - whether you're currently working on a business plan, looking to join a team, or just generally curious. Come and bring your friends!

Barnet Fain 

The former CEO of Highland Distributors, otherwise known as Fain’s Fine Carpet and Rugs, Mr. Fain is a lifelong advocate of arts and service organizations. He has directed several nonprofits, including the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, the Providence Art Club and Miriam Hospital. Mr. Fain’s present affiliations include consulting for Executive Service Corps and Social Ventures RI, as well as leading the Board of Directors of Lifespan, Rhode Island’s largest nonprofit health service provider. He also remains an active supporter and Honorary Trustee of the Rhode Island School of Design.
